Katherine McNamara Revealed some details of her upcoming role in Arrow season 7

Katherine will take a major reccurring role in the CW’s DC Arrow season 7, plaing Maya a street fighter and thief from Star City.

According to the actress the character is a boxer in an underground fight club, that grew up in a rough environment.
Mcnamara assured that the introduction of her character is not planned to be in the multi-show crossover of this year, which debuts December 9.

Arrow season 7 is seriously anti-spoiler so Mcnamara is full of secrets, she says: "The biggest thing I can say is there's a lot to come from this character, and there's so much as an actor for me to mine out of it. And just everyone at Arrow's been so welcoming, and it really has been a situation where I feel like I'm part of the family."

There's no information whether Maya will find herself on the right or wrong side of Oliver and the rest of Team Arrow, there are two possibilities based on her name in  the comics.

The first named Maya Ducard, a teenage girl who spent her life learning to become an assassin, she became an enemy of Damian Wayne who murdered her father.
The character has many powers and abilities like Gadgetry the ability to create and uses incredible gadgets for various purposes.
She can also move quietly and secretively she has the power of stealth, characters with this capacities are often called "thieves", "stealthy", or "spies" .

The second possibilitty is that Maya may be a version of Myrra Rhodes a scientist member of the Creature Commandos, they are an elite combat unit composed of soldiers with monster-like features.
